Scholarships
COSMOS offers scholarships to graduating high school seniors who have attended the UC Davis COSMOS program. Applications must be postmarked by Friday, January 16, 2009.
College Access Foundation Scholarship
$50,000 in scholarships (5 awards of $5,000, 5 awards of $3,000 and 5 awards of $2,000) will be awarded to UC Davis COSMOS alumni planning to major in any mathematics or science based field of study. Scholarships may be renewable for a 2nd year. The College Access Foundation of California is a sponsor of the COSMOS Program.
The Director's Award
One $6,000 scholarship will be awarded to a female UC Davis COSMOS alumnus entering a major in the field of mathematics, engineering, or physical sciences. Mrs. Gayle Wilson, Chair of the COSMOS Advisory Board and former First Lady of California, sponsors the Director’s Award.
General Eligibility Requirements
- UC Davis COSMOS Alumnus
- College freshman in the Fall 2009 (scholarship is contingent upon enrollment)
- Demonstrated academic achievement
- Planning to major in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field.
- Most awards are based on financial need.
Submission Checklist

- Transcripts - unofficial transcripts are acceptable
- Essay
- Financial information - letter verifying Free or Reduced lunch, TANF, or Financial Worksheet
- Postmark by Friday, January 16, 2009
