Teacher Fellow Testimonial
Derek Dockter has been working as a Teacher Fellow in the COSMOS program since 2006. This time spent working in the COSMOS program was nothing short of amazing. The COSMOS program creates and nurtures a unique learning community, where high school students, high school teachers, college students, and university faculty work together to create an unparalleled, life-enriching learning environment. The result of such a powerful cooperative culminated in many awesome educational experiences for everyone involved. In COSMOS, I had the privilege of working with many amazing high school students, undergraduate students, graduate students, and college faculty, many of whom I remain friends with. While being a Teacher Fellow is a job, there wasn’t a single day when it felt like work. I taught, learned, and experienced alongside remarkable people of all ages, and I am grateful to have been afforded the opportunity to do so. COSMOS filled the three summers with wonderful memories that I will never forget. Being a COSMOS Teacher Fellow is a blast!
