WHAT IS COSMOS?
  
   
The California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science (COSMOS) at UC Davis is a rigorous, four week residential program for talented and motivated students in grades 9*-12 (extraordinary 8th grade students may also attend). COSMOS students enroll in short courses that are designed to introduce students to subjects not traditionally offered in high school.
  
     
 
 
WHY PARTICIPATE IN COSMOS?
  
   
COSMOS is an academic enrichment program. The program provides a distinct opportunity to develop integrated skills for success in a college-like residential learning community. Participation in academic enrichment programs like COSMOS is highly regarded by institutions of higher education. Prospective applicants to the University of California benefit particularly as COSMOS participation is recognized under the "Special Program Participation" section on the UC application. COSMOS also gives students a unique opportunity to work closely with university faculty
  
   
and other students who share a passion for topics in mathematics or science.
 
     
 
HOW DO I APPLY TO COSMOS?
   
COSMOS uses an online application which will be available on this page beginning January 15, 2008. Applications for COSMOS 2008 are due March 15th, 2008. Applications received after the March 16th deadline will be returned unopened.
  
       
 
TUITION & FINANCIAL AID
  
   
Tuition for the 2008 COSMOS Program is $2,310. Tuition includes room and board, classroom materials, academic field trips, and transportation while on campus.
